Football Kick-off

Football season has begun and the Schlote family is SO excited! We kicked off the season with Boise State playing Virginia Tech. What a GAME!!! No one can ever say that Boise State doesn't put on an exciting game that's for sure!
We had a crazy time trying to get home in time for the game. Ty had his last practice before his first game yesterday.....
So we sat and watched Ty's practice and then headed to McDonald's with only 15 minutes until kick-off! I was freaking out!! LOL Luckily everyone must have already been at home ready for the game because the line wasn't long. We grabbed our food and flew home... walked in the door with only 3 minutes to spare! PHEW!!!

The game was amazing! It's lucky I wear fake nails or I would have chewed them all down to nubs watching. Ahhh the stress of it all! Today is Ty's first game!! I'm so excited to watch my boy play in his first football game. And I'm sure you know there will be plenty of pictures :) Sunday my beloved Titans play!! I just LOVE football season!!

Great Family Day

What a great day we had as a family! The kids and I were suppose to go to the Boise Zoo but unfortunately my friends daughter wasn't feeling well so we had to cancel. Although it ended up being a fun filled day anyway.

Keith got up at lunch time and we decided to play some video games with the kids. We don't play together as a family very often so this was a special treat for all of us :) While Joe & Faith played against each other Ty, Keith and I sat at the table and laughed hysterically at this McDonald's toy...
It talks like the 3 little pigs on Shrek but it's a little garbled so let's just say the things that it sounds like they say is HILARIOUS!!! I was in tears I was laughing so hard. Oh and let's not forget how when we first started playing with it Ty told me it was motion censored so I'm waving around all in front of it trying to get it to work and then Ty reveals to me that it was him pushing the button! Boy did he get a kick out of tricking Mom!

Keith headed back to bed and I started cooking some yummy Dirty Rice and fresh asparagus!
Now does that look good or what?!?! A little EVOO, a little Kosher salt & some fresh ground pepper and we're good to go! The boys always act like I'm trying to poison them when I feed it to them but at least they eat it.

Spent the rest of the evening relaxing and catching up on America's Got Talent! I'm so excited about the top 10. Some of my favorites made it in :) Well back to my relaxing then on to a shower and bed. Church in the morning!!! YAY!

First Post!

Well I've had a recipe blog for quite awhile and decided maybe it was time to try a real blog :) Hope you're all ready for this! Don't know if I am... HAHA

So today the repairman is coming with a new computer panel for my washer. I'm hoping and praying that this will be the fix it needs. It wouldn't spin and he thought that would be fixed by changing the panel but he wasn't sure. UGGHH seriously?? I have a week and a half worth of laundry piling up which includes my oldest sons clothes from football practice! Let's just say you probably don't want to go into their room right now! So here's hoping that the panel will fix everything and I can commence to laundry duties when he leaves.

Ty's practice's have been going really well. I can tell he's in his element. So far we've had a sprained finger and some serious bruising on his arms from defending the Quarterback. We haven't even had our first game yet!!! Ah well such is the life of a Football Mom eh? He seems to be enjoying his first few weeks as a 7th grader and I'm glad for that. Now let's just hope his grades are as good as they were last year.

Joe is of course disgusted with school as is to be expected. However the boy always comes through with good grades at the end of the year so I won't give him too much of a hard time. He watches Ty's practices longingly. I can tell that 7th grade can't get here soon enough for him. Although I would prefer he not rush it :)

Faith is loving school and is so happy to have her brother's 3rd grade teacher. Mrs. Terry is an awesome teacher and did really well with Joe and that says alot... LOL Faith just adores her so I'm hoping that means they'll have a great year together. Of course Faith is a pretty easy kid to get along with so I don't see why they wouldn't. She got to try out our new church's Sunday School last weekend and LOVED it. She has such an immense love for God (something we could all stand to learn from) that whenever it's something involving God she's all excited!

Keith is about the same as always. His poor stomach I think gives him more problems than his back now a days. Would be nice if Medicare would pay a little more on his meds so that the doctor could try him on something else. Oh no I take that back.... it would be nice if L&I would pay for his meds like they're suppose to! Yeah that one rubs me the wrong way big time. Oh I'm sorry he's at full medical improvement so we're no longer going to pay for his meds. EXCUSE ME?!?! And yet they want to fight tooth and nail to not have to pension him out because he's so young. Seriously I can't get anymore into this as I can feel my blood boiling as we speak. God's will be done!

Now on to me.... hmmm what to say. I'm hoping to get signed up for a bible study class at church this Sunday. I haven't been in a bible study in forever so I'm really looking forward to it. I hope it will be a great chance to better my knowledge of the Lord's word and also to make some new friends! Life seems to be settling down ever so slightly since school started.... thanks be to God! Keith and I are getting back into our school routines and enjoying some time alone.

Well I could sit here and talk your ear off all day but I really must head to the shower! Have a blessed day!!
